Dermot O Neill

Dermot O'Neill's grandmother grew an abundance of old-fashioned roses and he recalls hours as a boy in her garden surrounded by these wonderful flowers. As one of Ireland's best-loved gardening personalities, Dermot brings his joy of gardening to a wide audience.

A prolific writer, Dermot was a gardening contributor to the Irish Times for three years. He was also a gardening columnist for the Sunday Times newspaper between 2000 and 2006 and has written a column for The Sunday Independent, Ireland's largest selling Sunday newspaper. He was also the star of two hugely successful RTÉ series about the restoration of Clondeglass, Dermot’s Secret Garden.
